2 firefighters injured while extinguishing fire at Prothom Alo

Two firefighters were injured after being electrocuted while extinguishing fire at the Prothom Alo building, which broke out yesterday (18 December) following the death of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The injured firefighters, Md Alamgir and Md Shafiul Alam, both from Mohammadpur Fire Station, were immediately admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
They are currently receiving treatment and reported to be out of danger, according to Senior Staff Officer Md Shahjahan Sikder of the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The fire occurred after a group of agitated people vandalised and set fire to the offices of Prothom Alo and The Daily Star following the news of Sharif Osman Hadi's death.
