Dhaka-9: BNP’s Habib defeats Tasnim Jara by huge margin
According to the final results, Habib secured 111,212 votes, followed by his nearest rival Javed Mia Rasin of the NCP with 53,460 votes, while independent candidate Tasnim Jara finished third with 44,684 votes.
BNP-nominated candidate Habibur Rashid Habib has won the Dhaka-9 constituency by a wide margin in the 13th national parliamentary election.
According to the final results, Habib secured 111,212 votes.
His nearest rival, Javed Mia Rasin of the NCP, backed by the Jamaat-led 11-party alliance, received 53,460 votes, while independent candidate Tasnim Jara finished third with 44,684 votes.
A total of 221,681 votes were cast in the constituency. Of them, 217,688 votes were approved and counted, while 3,993 votes were cancelled.
The voter turnout in the constituency was recorded at 47.23%, reflecting participation from nearly half of the registered electorate.
