Jamaat claims victory in 16 seats, including Taher in Cumilla-11
According to the party, Md Saiful Alam won in Dhaka-12 and Md Amir Hamza in Kushtia-3
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has claimed that 16 of its candidates have won in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, including the party's Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammed Taher in Cumilla-11.
In a post on its official Facebook page at 9:23pm, the party said Taher secured victory in Cumilla-11 and also claimed that Md Saiful Alam won in Dhaka-12.
According to unofficial information cited by the party, the candidates Jamaat says have been elected are:

Md Nurul Islam (Chapainawabganj-3)
Md Amir Hamza (Kushtia-3)
Shahjahan Chowdhury (Chattogram-15)
Mohammad Zahirul Islam (Chattogram-16)
Md Abul Hasnat (Cumilla-4)
Md Golam Rabbani (Rangpur-5)
Mohammad Nazibur Rahman (Pabna-1)
ATM Azharul Islam (Rangpur-2)
Sheikh Monjurul Haque (Rahad) (Bagerhat-2)
Md Abul Kalam Azad (Khulna-6)
Mohammad Aminul Islam (Moulvibazar-1)
Md Rashedul Islam Rashed (Sherpur-1)

The party said the results were based on unofficial tallies available so far. Official results from the Election Commission were yet to be confirmed at the time of filing this report.
