Chattogram: BNP sweeps 6 seats, Jamaat takes 2
The outcome is based on unofficial results declared after vote counting concluded across the district.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has secured six constituencies in Chattogram district, while Jamaat-e-Islami-backed candidates have won two, according to unofficial results announced after vote counting.
In Chattogram-15 (Satkania-partly, Lohagara), Jamaat candidate Shahjahan Chowdhury won with 181,238 votes, defeating BNP's Nazmul Mustafa Amin, who received 130,661 votes. Voter turnout was 63.33%.
In Chattogram-16 (Banshkhali), Jamaat's Mohammad Zahirul Islam secured 93,167 votes, ahead of BNP's Mishkatul Islam Chowdhury, who polled 86,105 votes. Turnout stood at 58.77%.
Meanwhile, BNP candidates secured victories in six constituencies across the district.
In Chattogram-14, Alhaj Jasim Uddin Ahmed secured 76,493 votes, narrowly defeating Omar Farooq, who received 75,467 votes. Turnout was 59.42%.
In Chattogram-13, Sarwar Jamal Nizam won with 126,192 votes against SM Shahjahan's 51,450 votes, with 55.92% turnout.
In Chattogram-01, Nurul Amin received 128,799 votes, defeating Saifur Rahman, who secured 84,538 votes. Turnout was 57.96%.
In Chattogram-07, Hummam Quader Chowdhury secured 114,045 votes, ahead of ATM Rezaul Karim's 41,719 votes, with turnout at 56.29%.
In Chattogram-12, Mohammad Enamul Haque won with 135,044 votes against Syed Air Mohammad Payaru's 28,999 votes. Turnout was 54.86%.
In Chattogram-06, Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury secured 112,237 votes, defeating Mohammad Ilyas Noori (27,146 votes) and Shahjahan Manju (22,118 votes).
