30 journalists get Lilly Media Fellowship award
Thirty journalists have been awarded the Lilly Media Fellowship for their reports on Bangladesh's emerging cosmetics, skincare, and personal care industries.
Among them, three were recogniaed as the best in their respective categories: Jasim Uddin Badol from Daily Samakal won the Best Reporting Award in the print media category, DM Nazmul Hossain from Jagonews24.com in the online media category, and Selim Malik from RTV in the television category, reads a press release.
On Monday, at the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) auditorium, invited guests presented crests, certificates, and monetary rewards to the three winners and all participating fellows.

The event's chief guest, Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan, director general of DNCRP, emphasised the vital role of the media in preventing counterfeit products and safeguarding consumer rights. He assured swift action from the DNCRP if journalists expose discrepancies in products through investigative reporting.
Actor Siam Ahmed, also in attendance, remarked that Remark-Harlan products are now being exported beyond Bangladesh's borders. He encouraged consumers to use authentic products from the local company, Remark-Harlan.
The fellowship was jointly organised by the Association of Skincare and Beauty Products Manufacturers and Exporters of Bangladesh (ASBPMEB) and the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection. A total of 30 journalists participated across print, online, and television categories.
The fellows conducted field research and collected data to publish reports in their respective media outlets on the prospects, challenges, and potential solutions for the cosmetics and skincare industry.
The event was also attended by DNCRP directors Abdul Jalil and Fakir Muhammad Munawar Hossain, ASBPMEB Secretary General Jamal Uddin, senior journalist Monowar Hossain, and other members of the association.
