Standard Chartered Bangladesh appoints Enamul Huque as CEO
Standard Chartered Bangladesh has appointed Enamul Huque as chief executive officer, effective from 1 September.
Huque has 25 years of experience with Standard Chartered in Bangladesh and other markets, spanning corporate and institutional banking and risk management, according to a press release.
During his career, he has worked across local corporate banking, commodity trading and agribusiness, global subsidiaries and financial institutions. He has also managed strategic client relationships and transactions across different sectors.

Immediately before his appointment, Huque served as country chief risk officer and senior credit officer from April 2025.
In that role, he oversaw risk across Standard Chartered's Bangladesh operations and worked to align risk management with regulatory requirements and the bank's growth plans.
He also chaired the bank's Diversity and Inclusion Council.
"It is an honour to be appointed as CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh. This bank has been my professional identity for over 25 years," Huque said.
"Taking up the role of chief executive officer of our Bangladesh franchise is both a recognition and a major responsibility," he added.
Huque said his priorities would include strengthening the bank's role in connecting clients to international markets and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, regulators, communities and other stakeholders.
Beyond Standard Chartered, Huque served as co-chair of the Standing Committee on Capital Markets and Bond at the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry for the 2023–25 term.
He holds an MBA from Mount Eliza Business School at Monash University in Australia and graduate and postgraduate degrees from the University of Dhaka.
