Grameenphone appoints Abul Kasem Mohiuddin Al-Amin as CTO
Grameenphone has appointed Abul Kasem Mohiuddin Al-Amin as its chief technology officer (CTO), effective from 1 September.
He will lead the company's technology division and oversee its network development, digital innovation and technology-led transformation, according to a press release.
Al-Amin has nearly 23 years of experience across Grameenphone and the wider Telenor Group, holding leadership positions in network planning and deployment, operations, procurement and technology transformation.

Before his appointment, he served as senior director and head of network services at Grameenphone, responsible for network planning and deployment.
He previously served as chief procurement officer of Grameenphone, leading its sourcing strategy and procurement operations.
Al-Amin also worked as vice-president and programme director for Telenor India's network transformation programme, where he led large-scale transformation initiatives.
His other roles at Grameenphone included head of regional operations, head of partner management and head of operational excellence and efficiency.
Welcoming him to the management team, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone Yasir Azman described Al-Amin as a home-grown leader who had contributed significantly to the company's technology function and undertaken key international assignments within the Telenor Group.
"We have embarked on an ambitious journey to transform Grameenphone into a more technology-driven and future-ready organisation," Azman said.
"I am confident that Al-Amin's leadership will be instrumental in advancing this transformation, strengthening our technology capabilities and delivering better experiences for our customers," he added.
Al-Amin said he looked forward to working with the company's teams and partners to strengthen its technology foundation, accelerate transformation and provide secure, reliable and future-ready connectivity.
Al-Amin has completed several Telenor Group leadership development programmes, including the Telenor Accelerate Leadership Programme, Telenor Accelerate Change Excellence Programme and Telenor Core Leadership Programme.
He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) and an executive MBA in finance from North South University.
He also completed a management development programme at Lahore University of Management Sciences.
