Dhaka Bank introduces CRM booths at metro stations
Dhaka Bank PLC has launched its inaugural Cash Recycler Machine (CRM) booths at the Farmgate and Karwan Bazar stations on MRT Line 6, marking a key advancement in making digital banking more accessible for metro rail commuters.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Farmgate Station on August 3, 2025.
This initiative, in partnership with Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), will see a total of 16 CRM booths installed across all MRT Line-6 stations. The move aims to provide 24/7 services, including deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, and balance inquiries, thereby significantly improving financial inclusion in urban areas.
The event was attended by Mr Faruque Ahmed, Managing Director of DMTCL, and Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, Managing Director & CEO of Dhaka Bank PLC, alongside other senior officials from both organizations. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit between Bangladesh's modern mass transit infrastructure and forward-thinking financial institutions.

Speaking at the event, Sheikh Mohammad Maroof said, "We are taking digital banking to the heart of urban mobility. These CRM booths at Farmgate and Karwan Bazar are only the beginning. Our goal is to enable real-time banking for thousands of commuters travelling this route daily and to extend this convenience to all MRT Line-6 stations in the near future."
Faruque Ahmed, MD of DMTCL, noted the significance of such public-private collaboration and thanked Dhaka Bank for integrating digital financial services into metro rail stations, benefiting daily passengers.
This initiative underscores Dhaka Bank's commitment to financial inclusion and digital innovation in urban transportation.
