Bdcrictime earns international recognition at commonwealth awards
Md Jabed Ali, founder of BDCricTime, has received the Commonwealth Business Excellence Award for Best Entrepreneur in Malaysia, highlighting global recognition for a Bangladeshi digital sports platform.
BDCricTime, launched in 2015 as a passion project, has since become Bangladesh's most popular digital sports media with over 18 million followers across its website, app, and social media channels. It is also among the fastest-growing cricket platforms in South Asia.
"This award is not mine alone—it belongs to every cricket fan in Bangladesh whose love and trust made BDCricTime what it is today. It started as a piece of love, and today it stands as a symbol of passion, trust, and community," said Jabed Ali.
Under his leadership, BDCricTime has pioneered innovations, including Bangladesh's first live cricket scoring app, which competes with global platforms such as ESPNcricinfo and Cricbuzz. The platform also won the BASIS National ICT Award 2019 in the Media and Entertainment category.
Beyond technology and coverage of major tournaments, including the ICC T20 World Cup and Nidahas Trophy, BDCricTime has created jobs, nurtured young sports journalists, and inspired a generation to see sports media as a viable career path.
The Commonwealth award highlights both Jabed Ali's vision and the collective impact of Bangladeshi cricket fans in establishing a globally recognised digital media brand.
