Home, finance, commerce: Who are set to get these three giant ministries

Several senior politicians are set to join the new Cabinet today (17 February), with discussions underway over the allocation of key ministries including home affairs, finance and commerce.

He previously served as state minister for communications from 2001 to 2006 and was an MP from Cox's Bazar-1 during 1996–2006.
BNP Standing Committee Member and Chattogram-11 MP Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury is likely to become minister for finance and planning.
He served as commerce minister from 2001 to 2004. He resigned in 2004 following allegations that he had allowed a syndicate to increase the prices of essential commodities.
Zonayed Saki, chief co-ordinator of Ganosamhati Andolan and newly elected MP from Brahmanbaria-6, is likely to be appointed state minister overseeing finance and planning.
Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, MP from Sylhet-1, is likely to become the state minister of the ministries of commerce, industries and textiles.
He previously served as an advisor to the late BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
His father, the late Khandaker Abdul Malik, was a founding member of the BNP, a three-time elected MP, and founder of the Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The swearing-in ceremony of the prime minister recently concluded and the oath-taking for ministers and state ministers is scheduled to begin shortly today.
