ACC seizes two Gulshan flats of ex-land minister Saifuzzaman
Flats estimated at value of Tk18cr.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today (19 July) took possession of two flats in Dhaka's Gulshan belonging to fugitive former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, months after a court ordered their seizure.
The court ordered the seizure of the two flats along with other assets in December last year.
A joint task force led by ACC Deputy Director Mashiur Rahman arrived at the property at around 10am. The flats were later opened in the presence of an executive magistrate.

According to ACC sources, the flats have an estimated market value of Tk18 crore and are considered part of the former minister's alleged illegal wealth.
The ACC team, however, suspects that valuable furniture and other assets had already been removed from the flats before they took possession.
Earlier in January, the court issued warrants for the arrest of Saifuzzaman and other accused in the case.
Saifuzzaman fled Bangladesh after the fall of the Awami League government in August 2024 and faces multiple corruption and money laundering cases. The UK has frozen hundreds of properties linked to him as part of a money laundering investigation.
