Bank Asia launches Scan to Cash, QR-based cash withdrawal service

Bank Asia PLC has launched Scan to Cash, a QR code–based cash withdrawal service offering a modern alternative to traditional cheque-based withdrawals. The fully digital solution enables customers to withdraw cash from any Bank Asia branch without the need for a cheque or debit card. Scan to Cash provides a fast, convenient and seamless banking experience, benefiting both customers and the bank.

The service was inaugurated on 12 August 2025 at Bank Asia Tower Branch, Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, by ANM Mahfuz, Additional Managing Director of the bank. Deputy Managing Directors S M Anisuzzaman, Mirza Azhar Ahmad and Syed Zulkar Nayen, along with other senior officials, attended the inauguration.

With Scan to Cash, a unique QR code is displayed at the cash counter in each branch. Customers open the Bank Asia Smart App on their smartphones, scan the QR code, enter the withdrawal amount, and authenticate using a one-time password (OTP). Once authenticated, the teller hands over the cash and the account is instantly debited. Customers can make up to five transactions per day, with a daily withdrawal limit of BDT 300,000.
