Bank Asia opens 10 Islamic banking windows on service anniversary
Bank Asia PLC has inaugurated 10 Islamic Banking Windows simultaneously across the country to mark the 17th anniversary of its Islamic Banking Services.
The inauguration ceremony was held on 24 December 2025 at Bank Asia Tower in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. Arequl Arefeen, Deputy Managing Director of the bank, formally inaugurated the new windows, along with other Deputy Managing Directors and distinguished guests.
Among the guests were Mufti Shahed Rahmani, former Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee; Mawlana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah, former Member Secretary; Mawlana Mohammad Mofazzal Hussain Khan, Faqih Member; and Dr Mawlana Muhammad Ismail Hussain.
The Head of Islamic Banking and other department heads of the bank were also present at the event. Heads of Islamic Banking Windows, branch managers, and officials from different branches joined the programme virtually.
Bank Asia launched its Islamic Banking Services on 24 December 2008. Emphasising strict Shariah compliance, the bank's Islamic Banking operations provide a range of services across customer segments, including deposit mobilisation and Shariah-based investment activities.
