Consumers under pressure from food prices; inflation hits 8.58% in January
According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), inflation has been on a steady upward trend since last September. The rate was recorded at 8.17 percent in September, rising to 8.29 percent in November. It climbed further to 8.49 percent in December and reached 8.58 percent in January, marking a continued increase over the past several months.
