92 teams from 18 universities compete in UIU presentation contest
The English Language Forum (ELF), a wing of the Directorate of Career Counselling and Student Affairs (DCCSA) at United International University (UIU), organised an inter-university presentation competition titled 'Presentation Champs: Season II'.
The grand finale and prize-giving ceremony took place at the UIU campus on Madani Avenue in United City, Dhaka.
A total of 92 teams from 18 universities, including UIU, NSU, EWU, ULAB, and AIUB, took part in the preliminary round. The top eight teams competed in the final in the PechaKucha format, in which each team presented 20 slides in six minutes and 40 seconds, with each slide displayed for 20 seconds. Judges assessed time management, creativity, and audience engagement.
UIU team 'The Team without a Name' won the championship and received Tk25,000. EWU team 'Team Red Marked' were the first runners-up and received Tk15,000, while NSU team 'Ki Dewa Jiee' finished as second runners-up and received Tk10,000. Trophies were presented by Prof Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia, Vice-Chancellor of UIU, according to the organisers.
The panel of judges included Prof Dr Salma Karim, Director of the BBA Programme at UIU's School of Business and Economics; Dr Suman Ahmmed, Head of UIU's Department of CSE; Dr Shantanu Kumar Saha, Head of UIU's Department of EDS; Mohammad Aman Ullah, founder and chief organiser of the English Olympiad; Kirsten Gudgeon, Lecturer at UIU's Department of English; and Ummay Sumaiya Mutiatur Rasul, Head of Communications at UIU.
Faculty members, officials, participants, students, and other guests attended the programme.
