13th national polls: BNP secures 49.97% vote share, Jamaat gets 31.76%
NCP bags 3.05% of the votes
In the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the BNP, contesting with the "sheaf of paddy" symbol, secured 49.97% of the votes, while Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, with the "scales" symbol, received 31.76%.
These figures were revealed in a party-wise vote share report prepared by the Election Commission (EC) today (15 February).
The National Citizen Party (NCP), contesting with the "shapla koli" symbol, secured 3.05% of the votes.

Although the Jatiyo Party contested in 199 constituencies with the "plough" symbol, it received only 0.89% of the total votes.
Earlier, the EC stated that 59.44% of voters exercised their franchise in the national election and referendum.
Voting began simultaneously across the country at 7:30am on Thursday (12 February) in 299 parliamentary constituencies and continued uninterrupted until 4:30pm.
The EC cancelled the election in Sherpur-3 following the death of a Jamaat candidate. Additionally, the commission decided to withhold the results of Chattogram-2 and Chattogram-4 due to court cases against the winning candidates.
A total of 127,711,793 voters were registered for the election and referendum, with 2,028 candidates contesting.
