Deer hunter arrested with 106kg of meat in Sundarbans

The Coast Guard has arrested a deer hunter with 106kg of venison and 200 metres of deer‑hunting traps during a special operation in the Nalian area of the Sundarbans.
Lieutenant Commander Siam‑ul‑Haq, Coast Guard media officer, confirmed the information this evening (25 October).
Acting on a tip‑off, a team from the Nalian Coast Guard Outpost conducted the raid in an area adjacent to the Sundarbans under Dakop Police Station in Khulna at around 4am on Saturday. During the operation, the hunter was detained along with the recovered venison and hunting traps.
Legal proceedings regarding the seized items and the arrested individual are currently under way, the Coast Guard official added.
