Customs relaxes timing restrictions at Benapole amid traders’ objections
The decision came after a meeting between the leaders of the Benapole C&F Agents Association and the Benapole customs commissioner
Benapole customs authorities have reversed their earlier decision following strong opposition from traders, allowing import and export activities at the Benapole and Petrapole land ports to return to normal today (26 October).
Under the new schedule, trucks carrying all types of goods except raw materials may enter Benapole port from 7am to 11pm, while trucks carrying raw materials will be allowed entry from 7am to 6pm.
The decision came after a meeting between the leaders of the Benapole C&F Agents Association and the Benapole customs commissioner held earlier in the day.
Kamal Uddin Shimul, vice-president of the association, confirmed the development, saying the issue was resolved through discussion.
