A crude bomb blast in the New Eskaton area in the capital left a pedestrian injured this morning (16 November).
The explosion occurred at around 8:40am in front of the Waqf Building. The injured man, Abdul Basir, 50, works at a private institution.
Basir was walking to his office in Banglamotor when the crude bomb went off, causing injuries to his feet and hands.
He said he was following his usual route to work when a cocktail suddenly exploded as he passed the Waqf Building. He suspects it may have been hurled from the flyover above the area.
In a separate incident, miscreants detonated a cocktail at the Airport Railway Station last night (15 November). No casualties were reported. Notably, on Thursday (13 November), two crude explosive devices detonated in separate locations near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. No casualties were reported there either.
An explosion occurred in front of the airport roundabout's outgoing gate, while the other took place on the road outside the Xinjiang Restaurant in Airport Sector 1.
