Crude bombs explode in Dhaka Airport Railway Station, Agargaon, Pallabi, Hatirjheel, Mirpur areas
No injuries or casualties were reported
Several crude bomb explosions were reported in the capital's Airport Railway Station, Agargaon, Pallabi, Hatirjheel, and Mirpur areas today (15 November).
Around 11:30pm, a crude bomb exploded in the Dhaka Airport Railway Station area.
"Passengers waiting at the station began running in panic following the blast. However, no one was injured in the incident," said Md Mohidul Islam, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Uttara division.
Earlier, around 8:20pm, another crude bomb exploded in front of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) building in the capital's Agargaon.
The explosion occurred on the road adjacent to the ADB office, confirmed Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Imaul Haque, saying that no one was injured in the incident.
He also said police have begun efforts to identify those responsible for the explosion and are reviewing the surrounding area for clues.
In Pallabi, around 7:30pm, two crude bombs were exploded next to the Pallabi metro station, said Mafizur Rahaman, officer-in-charge of Pallabi Police Station.
About an hour earlier, another explosion took place under the Madhubagh Bridge in Hatirjheel.
Confirming the matter, Mohammad Raju, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatirjheel Police Station, said that no one was hurt.
Police teams were deployed to the area and have taken necessary security measures, he added.
The first incident occurred today around 5:30pm in the Mirpur BRTA area, where another crude bomb was exploded.
"It is not yet confirmed who caused the explosion. We are reviewing CCTV footage to identify those responsible. No injuries or casualties were recorded," said Mizanur Rahman, assistant commissioner of police (Mirpur division).
According to media reports, over the past five days, around 30 arson incidents have occurred amid the Awami League-called lockdown, along with numerous crude bomb explosions reported in different parts of the country.
