Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard recovered two lakh pieces of yaba pills from a boat in the Karnaphuli River in Patenga of Chattogram on Friday morning.

The coast guard team also seized the boat used to smuggle the contraband items. However, the smugglers managed to flee the scene, sensing the presence of the law enforcers, said Lieutenant Commander Saiful Islam, staff officer (East Zone) of Coast Guard.

Based on secret information, a team of the coast guard conducted a raid in Patenga on Friday morning and recovered two lakh yaba tablets from the boat.
