The Detective Branch (DB) of Bagerhat district police has arrested an alleged drug dealer transporting 20,300 pieces of yaba tablets worth Tk1.11 crore in a mango crate.
"The dealer Kalam Hossain, 25, was arrested with the drug during a search of a Satkhira-bound passenger bus at Katakhali bus stand area of Bagerhat's Fakirhat upazila, the district's Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Tauhidul Arif said at a press briefing this afternoon (13 July).
He said the raid was conducted based on a tip-off on a Satkhira Express bus, and the yaba tablets were found inside a black mango crate placed in the bus's storage compartment.

The SP said preparations are underway to file a case against the arrestee and present him before the court.
He also said Kalam hails from the Nathuar Danga area under Satkhira's Nathua Police Station.
