EBL becomes first bank in Bangladesh to establish connectivity via Starlink
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) is the first bank in Bangladesh to connect via Starlink satellite, setting a new standard for innovation, resilience, and efficiency in the country's financial technology sector.
The official launch was held today at EBL's head office in Dhaka, marking a strategic collaboration between the bank and Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet service.
The ceremony was attended by senior executives from EBL and Felicity IDC, Starlink's service provider in Bangladesh.

With Starlink's satellite connectivity, EBL aims to enhance internet reliability and speed, support secure transactions, maintain service during network outages, and extend coverage to underserved regions for uninterrupted financial services and broader nationwide accessibility.
"This milestone reflects our commitment to harnessing advanced technologies to build a more reliable, secure, and inclusive financial system in Bangladesh. By pioneering Starlink connectivity, we are setting a new standard for innovation and empowering communities across the nation with greater access to financial services," the bank said in a statement.
