The upcoming national election, scheduled for February 2026, will be a grand celebration, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus said today (14 September).
"The nation will experience a true rebirth through the election," he said while chairing a meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties to determine the legal basis and implementation process of the July Charter.
The chief adviser added that the sacrifices of the martyrs of July uprising will be meaningful only if the country achieves this rebirth.

Earlier on 11 September, the commission last met with political parties. Although discussions were held on implementing the July Charter, no final decision was reached.
According to the commission, the July Charter is not only a framework for political reform but also a long-term roadmap that will strengthen the foundations of democracy and good governance. Effective implementation will require full political consensus.
