Lt Colonel Ashiqur said, "Last night [15 January], a consignment of drugs entered Bangladeshi waters in the Bay of Bengal through the Naf River estuary from Myanmar on boat. Suspecting its movements, a special team conducted a sea operation as the boat crossed the zero line.

The team chased down the boat and successfully apprehended six drug peddlers. Upon searching the boat, they recovered 2.13 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 10,000 yaba tablets, and some cannabis."

"The boat has been seized, and a case has been filed at Teknaf model police station. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the authorities for further legal action," he added.
