Associate of Hadi murder suspect arrested with arms in Adabor
The arrestee was identified as Himan Rahman Shikdar, 32, a Jubo League activist and a close associate of Alamgir, the motorcycle rider allegedly involved in Hadi murder.
Police today (24 December) arrested a man with a foreign-made pistol and ammunition from the capital's Adabor area, alleging that he was planning acts of sabotage.
The arrestee was identified as Himan Rahman Shikdar, 32, a Jubo League activist and a close associate of Alamgir, the motorcycle rider allegedly involved in the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
However, Himan will be shown arrested in a separate arms case, said Adabor Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Ziaur Rahman.
According to police, a team from the Intelligence and Analysis Division (IAD) of Adabor Police Station conducted a raid at a residential hotel in the area around 2pm and apprehended Himan.
Later, acting on information provided by him, police recovered another foreign-made pistol, three rounds of live ammunition, fireworks, crackers, gunpowder and materials used to make crude explosives from the house of his associate Mehedi in the Baitul Aman Housing area, said Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media and public relations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
He added that during preliminary interrogation, Himan admitted to planning sabotage activities.
