Joint forces arrest 53 with drugs, local weapons in Mohammadpur
The operation was conducted from 6am to 11am today (23 December) by Mohammadpur police, the Bangladesh Army, and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Joint forces have arrested 53 people along with a large cache of drugs and locally made weapons during an operation in different areas of Mohammadpur in the capital.

Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner (media and public relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said, "During the drive, around 40 kilograms of cannabis, 200 yaba pills, nine machetes and samurai swords, 10 knives, and 12 stolen mobile phones were recovered from the possession of the arrestees."
"They have been produced before the court," he added.

According to Mohammadpur Police Station sources, among the arrestees, many are involved in serious crimes such as murder, robbery, drug trafficking, and activities linked to banned organisations.
