Britsh Council Dhaka and 10 minutes school sign MOU

A major initiative to transform English language assessment in Bangladesh has begun, as the British Council and 10 Minute School announce a strategic partnership.
Signed on 19 August 2025, the agreement marks a significant step toward making international-standard English testing more accessible to students nationwide.
Under the collaboration, 10 Minute School learners will be able to take the British Council's Primary English Test and Secondary English Test — globally recognised assessments that evaluate real-life skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These tests provide learners with measurable benchmarks of their English proficiency, enabling them to identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Primary English Test, designed for learners aged 9–12, builds foundational skills, while the Secondary English Test, aimed at 13–17-year-olds, assesses more advanced abilities, helping students demonstrate readiness for higher education or career opportunities.
"This partnership is a pivotal moment in our efforts to broaden access to high-quality English language assessment across Bangladesh," said Maxim Raimann, Country Exams Director, British Council Bangladesh. "By working with 10 Minute School, we are confident that we will reach a wider range of learners in both urban and rural communities. Our internationally recognised tests will help students develop practical skills. These skills will prepare them for academic and professional success."
The initiative reflects both organisations' commitment to promoting reliable, inclusive, and globally benchmarked English language testing in Bangladesh.
From the British Council, Maxim Raimann, Country Exams Director; Tahnee Yeasmin, Head of Business Development; Tabassum Chowdhury, Account Manager for English & Exams; and Rounaq Jahan Nabila, Technical Support Officer, attended the signing ceremony.
From 10 Minute School, Ayman Sadiq, CEO; Shams Asif Chowdhury, Programme & Partnership Lead; Mohammad Risan, Programme Manager; and Avipsu Das Gupta, Business & Operations Lead, were present.
"Our collaboration with the British Council reflects a shared vision of making learning outcomes more transparent and meaningful," said Shams Asif Chowdhury of 10 Minute School. "By introducing the Primary and Secondary English Tests, we are helping students showcase their true potential. We are also giving parents a clearer picture of their child's progress."
The partnership combines the British Council's global expertise in assessment with 10 Minute School's digital reach. It bridges innovation with international standards in language learning.
