He said such fairs could help expand export markets and enhance industry visibility.
Mohammad Hasan Arif stressed the importance of export diversification to boost national income, noting that the furniture industry has become one of Bangladesh's most promising sectors.
He said Bangladesh can produce internationally competitive furniture by utilising local raw materials, modern technology, and skilled labour. The government, he added, has identified furniture as a potential export sector and will continue to provide policy support and incentives to encourage entrepreneurs.
He also highlighted the role of such fairs in fostering business networks and promoting local furniture on an international stage, expressing his vision of seeing the sector evolve into a leading export-driven industry.
It was announced that Bangladesh's furniture industry now meets 100% of domestic demand while exporting a growing volume abroad.
This year's fair features 48 leading furniture companies showcasing their latest designs and innovations across 278 stalls. Prominent participants include Akhtar, HATIL, Brothers, Nadia, Ayat, Omega, JMG, Navana, Athenas, Partex, Regal, and Legacy.
