Bangladesh Open University (BOU) published the results of its SSC Examination 2026 today, with 63.74% of candidates passing.
According to a press release, the results were published at 12:30 pm today (27 August).
A total of 30,816 students participated in the first- and second-year examinations this year.
Of the 12,024 students who sat the final examination, 7,664 passed. The successful candidates included 4,725 male and 2,939 female students.
The information was disclosed in a notification signed by BOU Acting Controller of Examinations Md Habibullah Mahmud.
The university broadcast the results publication programme live on its Facebook page.
Announcing the results, BOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan said the university continued to provide a second opportunity for people who remained outside mainstream education.
"As the country's second-largest public university, Bangladesh Open University is working to ensure a fair, modern and malpractice-free examination system while making the examination and results publication processes faster and more technology-driven," he said.
"The SSC Examination 2026 results were published within the stipulated period – in only 49 working days. This is an important step towards overcoming the previous perception of delays in publishing results," he added.
Congratulating the successful candidates, the vice-chancellor urged those who had not passed not to lose hope and to continue their education by sitting the examination again.
He said the university had taken steps to fully automate the examination system and introduce identity cards with QR codes, admit cards with photographs, and electronic attendance from the next examination.
Professor Khan thanked the teachers, examiners, examination committees, regional and sub-regional centres, study centres, examination and ICT divisions, and journalists involved in conducting the examinations and publishing the results.
