ABB condemns attack on Nagad administrator

The Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Limited (ABB) has strongly condemned the attack on Bangladesh Bank-appointed administrator at Nagad, Muhammad Badiuzzaman Didar.

In a statement issued today (16 February), ABB Chairman Selim RF Hussain denounced the assault, emphasising that such acts are a blatant attempt to undermine governance, accountability, and the rule of law.

"This attack is not only an assault on an individual but also a direct challenge to the principles of justice and regulatory oversight," said Selim.

"Such actions have no place in a lawful society, and we urge the authorities to take swift action in bringing the perpetrators to justice," he said.

In the statement, ABB reiterated its unwavering support for Bangladesh Bank in its efforts to uphold good governance, transparency, and accountability across the country's financial institutions.

The association also called upon all stakeholders to respect the rule of law and stand united against any attempt to disrupt the integrity of the financial sector.
