CA Yunus stresses transparency in finalising July Charter
The chief adviser expressed his appreciation for the dedication and contributions of the consensus commission members

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus yesterday (17 July) stressed that the entire process of formulating the July Charter must be transparent and visible to the public.
"This is a historic event. The desire of the mass uprising will be reflected through this. So, the entire process must be carried out transparently—it must be visible to the people in this way," he said while presiding over a meeting of the National Consensus Commission at the State Guest House Jamuna.
During the meeting, he was briefed on the progress of the commission's work. Members of the Commission informed him that they are making every effort to finalise the July Charter as quickly as possible.
The chief adviser expressed his appreciation for the dedication and contributions of the commission members, saying, "As every meeting of the Consensus Commission is being broadcast live on television, the people have the opportunity to witness these vital discussions. People at home and abroad have widely praised this initiative."
The meeting was attended by Vice Chair of the Commission Professor Ali Riaz, along with members Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Haque, and Dr Mohammad Ayub Miah.
Professor Ali Riaz informed the chief adviser that consensus had already been reached on eight major issues following the second round of dialogue with political parties. He added that discussions are still underway on seven remaining issues.
Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser Siraj Uddin Miah and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Monir Haidar were also present at the meeting.
