Pubali Bank-National University join hands for green initiative

Pubali Bank PLC has launched a tree plantation programme at the National University campus in Gazipur as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The programme was inaugurated by National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A S M Amanullah, who attended as the chief guest. Pubali Bank Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Ali was present as the guest of honour.
Pro-Vice-Chancellors Professor Md Lutfor Rahman and Dr Md Nurul Islam, and Treasurer Professor Dr A T M Zafrul Azam attended the event as special guests. Among others, Mohammad Arifur Rahman, Gazipur region head and deputy general manager; Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, public relations officer and assistant general manager; and Rehana Khatun, Board Bazar branch manager, were also present along with senior officials of both institutions.
Speaking at the event, Mohammad Ali said, "In addition to the development of society, we must be more conscious of environmental protection to safeguard ourselves. Tree plantation and volunteer activities need to be strengthened, and investment must be increased."
He also emphasised planting indigenous trees instead of foreign species and stressed the importance of proper care and conservation alongside plantation efforts.
Professor Amanullah said, "Trees not only maintain the balance of nature but also help ensure a safer world for future generations." He thanked Pubali Bank for taking such a timely and meaningful initiative.
