Islamic Arabic University opens teacher training workshop
Islamic Arabic University has begun a two-day workshop to improve Arabic instruction at affiliated Kamil madrasas, focusing on modern Arabic-language techniques.
The 'Arabic language Teaching Method' workshop started at the university auditorium today (17 May 2026), organised by the Kamil (Postgraduate) Education, Training and Research Centre.
Teachers from the Arabic department of affiliated madrasas attended the initial sessions.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Abu Zafar Khan inaugurated the workshop.
Speakers stressed that adopting modern methods is key to raising standards in Arabic education.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor said Arabic education is vital for religious scholarship and advanced study.
He added that modern methods would boost students' proficiency and interest.
The Vice-Chancellor also announced plans to include all approved madrasa teachers in the training, aiming to modernise education through teacher development.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Shahidul Islam presided over the session.
Professor Dr Muhammad Ruhul Amin from the Arabic Department of the University of Dhaka served as the resource person.
Other attendees included Fahad Ahmad Momtazi (Acting Registrar), Md Ziaur Rahman (Acting Director, Planning and Development), Dr Javed Ahmad, Assistant Professors Harunur Rashid and Jahed Ullah, Akhlakul Ambia (Assistant Registrar), and officials from related departments.
The first day ended with academic sessions, discussions, and practical exercises.
