Prime bank disburses agri loans to farmers in Faridpur

Prime Bank PLC has distributed open agricultural loans to farmers in Madhukhali Upazila, Faridpur, as part of its efforts to bolster growth and development in Bangladesh's agricultural sector.
The loan disbursement ceremony was held on August 26 in Madhukhali, drawing about 150 farmers. Prime Bank also honored eight farmers with crests for their outstanding record of prompt loan repayment, setting an inspiring example for others in the community.
The event was attended by T M Forhad Reza Jewel, additional director of the Agricultural Credit Department at Bangladesh Bank; Md Abu Rasel, upazila nirbahi officer; Md Mahbub Elahi, agricultural extension officer; M Nazeem A Choudhury, deputy managing director of Prime Bank PLC; Shahana Parvin, senior vice-president and head of agri business; Tarikul Hasan, vice-president and zonal head; the manager of Madhukhali branch; and other senior officials of the bank.
Addressing the gathering, M Nazeem A Choudhury remarked, "The agriculture sector is vital for ensuring food security, creating jobs, and reducing poverty. Prime Bank remains dedicated to enhancing financial inclusion among farmers. Currently, the bank assists farmers through its specialised agricultural loan schemes — Abad for crop cultivation, Khamar for farm operations, and Nabanna for purchasing agricultural machinery. Continuing these efforts, Prime Bank has launched this initiative to distribute loans to farmers in the region."
With this initiative, Prime Bank reaffirms its commitment to advancing the sustainable growth of Bangladesh's agriculture sector.
