NU organises free eye camp for teachers, officials and staff

The National University has organised a two-day eye camp to provide free eye care services to its teachers, officials, and staff. Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah inaugurated the camp on Tuesday at the university's medical building.
The camp, arranged by the university's Medical Services Office, is offering consultation and treatment by ophthalmologists from Dhaka Eye Care Hospital. On the first day, doctors examined various eye conditions, including cataract, glaucoma, and retinal problems, and provided primary treatment. Patients requiring advanced care received specialist referrals.
Speaking at the inauguration, Vice-Chancellor Professor Amanullah said physical well-being is essential to maintaining efficiency. He noted that the free eye camp would play a significant role in ensuring healthcare support for teachers, officials, and staff. He also instructed the expansion of such health initiatives in the future.
Treasurer Professor ATM Zafarul Azam, along with university teachers, officials, and employees, attended the opening ceremony. The second day of the free eye camp will take place on September 2, 2025.
