Muhit Rahman joins ONE Bank as managing director

Veteran banker Muhit Rahman has been appointed as Managing Director of ONE Bank PLC, effective Sunday, 9 November 2025.

With more than 30 years' experience in corporate, institutional and investment banking, Muhit has held senior leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank and previously at American Express Bank. His extensive career spans corporate and investment banking, financial institutions, financial markets, structured finance, capital markets and strategic balance sheet management.

Prior to joining ONE Bank, Muhit was Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions at Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh, where he managed relationships with banks, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), the central bank, multilateral agencies, development organisations and public sector entities. He also led the bank's financial markets business and played a pivotal role in executing several landmark transactions.

Muhit began his career at American Express Bank in 1995 and joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2005. He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and has completed executive and leadership programmes at Cambridge, Oxford, the London School of Economics, UC Berkeley, Columbia and INSEAD.
