Jahangirnagar university, Southeast Bank introduce co-branded cards

Jahangirnagar University and Southeast Bank PLC have launched co-branded credit and prepaid cards to enhance financial inclusion and deliver modern banking to the university community.
Under the MoU, faculty members and staff will receive lifetime free co-branded credit cards with appropriate credit limits, while students will be offered co-branded prepaid cards designed for simple usage and online transactions. These cards will enable payments for various purposes, including foreign university application fees and other domestic and international transactions. All cards will carry the university's logo, symbolising the collaboration.
Professor Dr M Abdur Rab, Treasurer of Jahangirnagar University, and Md Masum Uddin Khan, Deputy Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, formally signed the agreement at a ceremony in the university's administrative building conference room.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamrul Ahsan, Vice-Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he described the MoU as "a milestone in mutual cooperation" and expressed optimism that the partnership would foster technology-based financial inclusion and provide wider access to modern banking services for students, faculty, and staff alike.
Senior officials from both institutions attended, including vice-chancellors, faculty leaders, and key executives from Southeast Bank.
Speaking at the ceremony, Md Masum Uddin Khan of Southeast Bank noted that the co-branded initiative demonstrates the bank's continued commitment to offering tailored financial solutions for academic institutions.
The launch of these co-branded cards streamlines transactions and enhances financial convenience for the Jahangirnagar University community.
