EWU, DCCI sign MoC to launch professional courses

East West University (EWU) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to jointly develop and offer specialised professional courses.
The signing ceremony, held at EWU on Thursday, marked a significant step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry. The MoC was signed by Professor Dr Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of EWU, and Mr Taskeen Ahmed, President of DCCI.
Through this collaboration, EWU and DCCI will introduce a series of high-impact professional courses focusing on key areas of contemporary business and economic development. The initial courses will cover entrepreneurship and startup development, sustainable business strategy and ESG reporting, and project management, including PMP and Agile practices. To ensure greater flexibility and accessibility, the courses will be offered in both online and in-person formats and scheduled four times a year.
The signing event was attended by senior representatives from both institutions. From EWU, Professor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees; Professor Dr Ashik Mosaddik, Pro Vice-Chancellor; and Professor Dr Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean, were present. Representing DCCI were Md Salem Sulaiman, Vice President, and Directors Mamnun Quader, Kamrul Hasan Tuhin, and Minhaj Ahmed, along with other officials and guests.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to equipping professionals with industry-relevant knowledge and skills, contributing to the growth of business and economic development in Bangladesh.
