EWU Civil Engineering programme earns global accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering programme at East West University (EWU) has received official accreditation from the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), a wing of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
The accreditation is recognised under the Washington Accord, a prestigious international agreement among accrediting bodies for engineering education. This recognition ensures that EWU civil engineering graduates will be acknowledged as professional engineers in signatory countries across the globe, significantly enhancing their career opportunities.
To commemorate this milestone, a special visit was held at the Department of Civil Engineering on 9 July 2025. The delegation included Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Professor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Shams Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M Ashik Mosaddik, and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering Professor Dr Ahmed Wasif Reza.
They were warmly welcomed by Dr Naimul Haque, Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering, along with faculty members of the department.
