Facebook gradually resumes service after widespread disruption
According to outage tracking site downdetector, more than 100,000 user reports were submitted as of 7:58pm today (12 June).
Meta-owned Facebook began gradually restoring its services around 8:25pm today (12 June) following a disruption that affected users in Bangladesh and several other parts of the world.
Although the platform became accessible again for many users, some reported that several features were still not functioning properly.
A number of users also said they remained unable to access Messenger, indicating that the messaging service had not fully recovered.
Earlier in the evening, users experienced a range of issues, including difficulties logging into Facebook, news feeds failing to refresh, and Messenger automatically logging them out.
According to outage tracking site downdetector, more than 100,000 user reports were submitted as of 7:58pm today.
However, no official statement regarding the cause of the outage had been issued by Meta as of the filing of this report.
