Dhaka college alumni association hsc ’96 celebrates eid reunion and new committee inauguration

Dhaka College Alumni Association HSC 1996 batch celebrated the inauguration of its newly elected committee alongside a joyous Eid reunion on 27 June at The Forest's Edge Resort in Gazipur.

The day began with a warm welcome address by the newly elected President, Dr Md Ashraful Hasan Manik, who also announced the members of the Advisory Council. General Secretary Md Wahid Alam Tulit subsequently introduced the new Executive Committee members. Commemorative crests were exchanged as a token of appreciation between the President, General Secretary, and the Advisory Council members, marking a moment of mutual respect and recognition.

Approximately 200 members from the HSC '96 batch gathered for a day filled with nostalgia and camaraderie. The occasion was enlivened with spirited conversations, swimming in the resort's pond and pool, a friendly cricket match, and cultural performances by popular national artists. The programme was eloquently hosted by Wahiduzzaman Bulbul and Mozammel Haque Raju, adding to the celebratory mood.

Earlier, on Saturday, 31 May, the association held its first biennial election on the Dhaka College campus through both online and offline voting. Dr Md Ashraful Hasan Manik was elected President with 230 votes, while Md Wahid Alam secured the position of General Secretary with 225 votes. Their rival candidates, Md Kamal Hossain Talukder Jibon and Shah Fazle Rabbi, received 11 and 16 votes respectively. A total of 247 out of 366 registered voters cast their ballots.

The event reflected the enduring bond among the Dhaka College HSC '96 alumni and set the tone for the new committee's tenure, focused on unity, engagement, and shared memories.
