Dhaka College Science Club hosts Intra Science Festival & Freshers’ Orientation 2025
The Dhaka College Science Club (DCSC) organised the Intra Science Festival and Freshers' Orientation 2025 on 11 and 13 November, bringing together students from the HSC 26 and 27 batches for two days of science-focused competitions and engagement.
Professor A.K.M. Elias, Principal of Dhaka College, served as chief patron, while Dr Md Mostafa Akbar, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at BUET, served as chief guest.
Special guests included the club's founding president and University of Rochester faculty member, Ehsan Haque; founding general secretary and BRAC University architecture lecturer, Nabi Newaz Khan Shomin; and A.K.M. Rafiqul Alam, Secretary of the Teachers' Council of Dhaka College.
The festival featured a series of competitive segments such as Rubik's Cube solving, sci-fi writing, photography, gaming, Calculus Combat, IQ Test with Criminal Case Solving, Sudoku Race, Science Olympiad, and Event Design. The FIFA 26 gaming segment attracted the highest engagement from participants.
Winners received prizes and certificates, and the venue buzzed with student enthusiasm and creativity throughout the event.
Speaking at the programme, Chief Patron Professor A.K.M. Elias said the festival would be held on a more dynamic scale in the future. "Events like this inspire our students and give them a platform to create something meaningful.
I believe Dhaka College Science Club will continue to grow stronger and bring positive contributions to the nation."
The event was organised under the club's motto, "For Club and Country."
