SSC exams to begin 7 Jan, HSC 6 Jun next year: Minister
The SSC and equivalent examinations are scheduled to conclude on 6 February, while the HSC and equivalent examinations are set to end on 13 July next year.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for 2027 will begin on 7 January, while the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will start on 6 June, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon announced today (14 May).
The minister disclosed the schedules for the public examinations at a press conference.
The schedules were jointly published by the education boards of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur and Mymensingh.
According to the boards, the schedules may be revised if necessary.
The SSC and equivalent examinations are scheduled to conclude on 6 February, while the HSC and equivalent examinations are set to end on 13 July next year.
On Wednesday (13 May), Milon said the government was weighing completing SSC and HSC examinations within a fixed timeframe. He said his ministry was assessing the feasibility of completing the two public examinations [SSC, HSC] by 31 December every year.
However, teachers, students and education stakeholders opposed the plan to hold the 2027 SSC and HSC examinations in December this year, arguing that such a sudden change in the schedule could affect students' preparation and make it difficult to complete the syllabus on time.
