BSCPLC hands over Tk 1.06 crore profit cheque to workers welfare foundation
Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) hereby informs you that from the profit of BSCPLC 2023-2024 fiscal year, Tk 1.06 crore was transferred to the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation Fund established under the Ministry of Labour and Employment by Section 234 of the Labour Act 2006.
Mr Nahid Islam, Honourable Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, handed over the above cheque to Mr Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain, Honourable Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, in the meeting room of the Ministry of Shipping, Bangladesh Secretariat. The cheque handover ceremony was attended by the Honourable Secretary of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr Mushfiqur Rahman and Honourable Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Mr AHM Shafiquzzaman, Mr Mirza Kamal Ahmed, Project Director, SMW-6 Project on behalf of BSCPLC, Chairman of the Company's Worker Participation Fund and Worker Welfare Fund Trust, Mr Abdus Salam Khan, along with senior officials of the two ministries were present.
It is worth noting that since the establishment of BSCPLC's Worker Participation and Worker Welfare Fund in the fiscal year 2013-2014, the company has been regularly depositing a portion of its profits to the Workers Welfare Foundation Fund established by the government for the welfare of the country's working people, as per the rules.
