ADB supported initiative targets inclusive growth in the hills

A month-long Entrepreneurship Development Training Programme jointly organised by Bangladesh Bank and Trust Bank PLC under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP) has concluded in Rangamati, aiming to boost enterprise capacity in the hilly region.
Implemented by the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the programme focused on practical business skills, access to finance, and market linkage.
The closing ceremony at the Rangamati Chamber Bhaban was attended by Nawshad Mustafa, Director, SME and Special Programmes Division, Bangladesh Bank, as chief guest, and Brigadier General (Retired) Shamsuzzaman, aowc, psc (Retired), SEVP and Principal, Trust Bank Training Academy, as chair. Senior officials present included Md Mahboob Hossain, SEVP and Head of Business Division; Md Ayub Ali, Deputy Programme Director, SICIP, Bangladesh Bank; Md Ariful Islam, Deputy Director, Bangladesh Bank; and Sadat Ahmed Khan, SVP and Head of SME Division, Trust Bank.
A total of 25 entrepreneurs—including 23 women—received certificates and awards.
Speakers said the initiative would promote self-employment, women's entrepreneurship and inclusive growth, supporting progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. The event ended with an interactive session and a group photograph.
