Al-Arafah Islami Bank to suspend all services for 9 days from 30 Jan
The bank said the upgrade aims to enhance security and deliver more modern digital banking services to customers.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited (AIBL) has announced a temporary suspension of all its banking services for nine consecutive days, from 30 January to 7 February 2026, due to a major technical upgrade of its Core Banking System (CBS).
The bank said the upgrade aims to enhance security and deliver more modern digital banking services to customers.
According to the schedule, all online banking services – including ATM operations and internet banking – will remain fully suspended throughout the nine-day period. In addition, all branches and sub-branches will be closed for cash transactions and over-the-counter services from 1 to 3 February.
Branches will resume limited operations, mainly cash transactions, on 5 February, while all regular and online banking services will fully resume on 8 February.
Although the overall service suspension spans nine days, the bank noted that the disruption to branch-based banking will be limited to three days, as 30–31 January fall on weekend holidays and 4 February is a public holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
Bangladesh Bank has approved the scheduled "technical downtime", which the bank said is part of its long-term plan to provide improved Shariah-compliant financial services. Customers have been advised to complete any urgent transactions before the suspension begins.
