IGP urges police to uphold professionalism, ensure fair election
During an exchange of views, police officials reviewed law and order across Dhaka and discussed strategic measures to ensure the fair, peaceful and transparent conduct of the upcoming national election.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has called on all members of the Bangladesh Police to carry out their duties with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and efficiency, and also ensure a fair general election.
He made the call while addressing a special views-exchange meeting on law and order, organised by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh yesterday (8 November), says a press release issued today.
Chaired by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, the meeting brought together top law enforcement officials, including Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman, Special Branch Additional IGP (Grade-1) Md Golam Rasul, Additional IGP (Crime and Operations) Khondaker Rafiqul Islam and several senior officers of the DMP.
