2 arrested over killing of top-listed criminal Mamun in Old Dhaka
The arrestees have been identified as Rubel and Ibrahim, both of whom are professional hitmen, according to police.
Police have arrested two alleged professional shooters in connection with the killing of top-listed criminal Tarik Saif Mamun, who was gunned down in broad daylight in front of the Dhaka National Medical College Hospital in Old Dhaka yesterday morning (10 November).
The arrestees have been identified as Rubel and Ibrahim, both of whom are professional hitmen, according to police.
Confirming the matter today (11 November), a senior official of the Detective Branch (DB) said, "The two were trying to flee across the border when they were captured."
"A team of DB police arrested them this evening during separate drives in different areas of Cumilla," the official added.
Earlier, Mamun, 55, a resident of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila, was shot dead in broad daylight in Old Dhaka's Sutrapur area.
