Fire at Panchlaish Police Station in Ctg brought in control after half an hour
A fire that broke out at Panchlaish Police Station in Chattogram early today (28 October) was controlled within half an hour, but officials said it caused no casualties or major damage.
Sub-inspector Afsar, the station's operation officer, told The Business Standard that the fire started around 3:15am in the officer-in-charge's room, likely from an electrical short circuit.
"Smoke was seen coming out of the OC's room, and the duty officers immediately used fire extinguishers to control the blaze," he said.
A firefighting unit arrived shortly afterwards and helped bring the fire under control around 3:50am.
"The fire damaged some decorations and books, but thanks to the quick response of our officers and firefighters, we managed to prevent any major loss," Afsar added.
